(Ocala, FL, April 11, 2024) – The 19th Annual Ocala Open hosted by Candler Hills Golf Club kicked off a three-day tournament on their par 72 championship course with a Charity Pro-Am on March 19, 2024. The Pro-Am paired three amateur golfers with one Ocala Open golf professional for a competitive 18-hole competition. Not only did the Pro-Am host a great day of golf, but the event also raised $100,000 for local charities Hospice of Marion County, Inc., and Interfaith Emergency Services, each receiving $50,000 to put towards helping their cause.

With the help of many sponsors throughout the years, 2024 marked the year the Ocala Open raised over 1 million dollars to date in charitable contributions. “It’s truly remarkable to see the continuous support from our sponsors and the local community, enabling us to reach this milestone of over $1 million raised for local charities,” said Matt Hibbs, Director of Golf. “Their generosity allows us to make a meaningful impact on organizations like Hospice of Marion County, Inc., and Interfaith Emergency Services, who provide invaluable assistance to our community and its residents.”

The Ocala Open Golf Tournament was held the following three days on March 20-22, 2024. The Open began with two beautiful, and somewhat chilly, days of golf. The third day was forecasted to be full of rain, however, players lucked out with only having a one-hour rain delay at the start of the day. Though rain-free, golfers would still be challenged to complete their final round on a windy day.
