Choose from three (3) golf courses at On Top of the World Florida retirement community. Two private courses: Tortoise & Hare and The Links. One Semi-private course: Candler Hills Golf Course. You can walk or ride and enjoy nature and beautiful vistas. Our private golf club features two links-style, par 72 championship courses for OTOW residents and their guests. Impeccably maintained, these courses offer outstanding play throughout the year. The club also features a driving range, practice facility and pro shop.

An expertly manicured, par 72 championship golf course, Candler Hills Golf Course is designed as a Palm Springs-style course with one of the longest par 5 in Florida – 669 yards! Both The Tortoise & The Hare and The Links are private 18-hole golf courses in a picturesque natural setting, exclusive only to OTOW residents and their guests. Play is on a first-come, first-served basis. The Tortoise & The Hare is a shot makers delight, while The Links offers more traditional southern flavor.

On Top of the World RC Flying Field

…Into the Wild Blue Yonder!

R/C flying enthusiasts will enjoy a private R/C flying field at our Florida retirement community. It is a 14-acre site with a 600′ x 150′ foot grass runway. A large pavilion where spectators can comfortably watch the action and enjoy the beautiful and scenic pastoral view sits next to the runway. The R/C flying field is open daily to members of the R/C Flyers Club. The club organizes special events at the field such as regional fly-ins which welcome hundreds of enthusiasts and experts from everywhere. New to Flying?

The club also provides flight-training for new flyers. The R/C flying field is managed by the R/C Flyers Club. The RC Flyers and its members are affiliated with the Academy of Model Aeronautics, AMA which is a world-class association of modelers organized for the purpose of promotion, development, education, and the advancement of model aircraft activities. The RC Flyers and the Academy provide leadership, organization, competition, communication, protection, representation, recognition, education, and scientific/technical development to its members regarding remote control model aircraft.
